"Roy Kirkland and Doug Sebastian are modern Profiles in Courage,
standing up against the most frightening bigotry imaginable. 'A Cross
Burning in Willacoochee' could also be called 'Standing Their Ground'
because that is what this gay couple does when cowards in their small
town and from their insurance company do everything they can to
intimidate and dehumanize them.
They didn't set out to be activists and role models, but in the simple act of
not giving up and not giving in they show themselves to be civil rights
pioneers in a part of the country that doesn't take kindly to them. The film
is rich in a telling of a story that will move you, horrify you, make you mad
and sometimes make you smile and cry."
